Just Business Nothing Personal

Cockroaches on the hotel wall gives the creeps
Roaming freely in the city that never ever sleeps
Breakfast on the run, sausage and eggs to eat
First, visit the public library for my favorite seat
Soon, a dear long time friend to call or meet
Later, find a park bench to rest my traveling feet
While sipping cranberry juice to cool this loving heat

Solid As A Rock: Final Chapter

Against all odds, I have finally reached my last 24h before I set sail to the Gala Awards of PME, in Ottawa, Ontario. Within those last hours I would need to:
  1. Pack my clothes, my shoes, a smile and my passport
  2. Clean up
  3. Cook
  4. Trip to the barber
  5. Wash clothes
  6. More paper work
  7. Pay bills
  8. Book hotel
  9. Eat
  10. Pick up an invited guess at the airport
  11. Prepare my speech
  12. Meet a friend
  13. Meet an agent
  14. Trip to the post office
  15. Read/reply to email
  16. Prepare for print next week, the french postcard design for "Express Yourself"
  17. etc.
Against all odds, half of that list have been reduced so far. I just hope I will find time to sleep in order to remember my speech for tomorrow, and to not look too tired for the journalist and their camera.

"Impossible" move out the way, we have work to accomplish. Here we come Ottawa;)

Solid As A Rock: Part 7

In all great journey travelled, there will be battles won and battles lost.

I can officially say: Day # 10 and Day # 11 were the worst productive days since I started writing under the heading "Solid As A Rock".

Day # 10: Was spent helping a friend window shop for a laptop, we travelled every downtown electronic store looking for the best performing computer money could buy. I placed my priorities aside to help a friend. What are friends for;)

Day # 11: I went shopping for a special book as a gift, after finishing my work with a few paperwork assignment for the company. Knowledge is power, I pray that this book "Who moved my cheese?" written by Spencer Johnson, M.D. will touch someone in order for them to face life head on.

Day # 12 - 13: Those two days will also be right off days, since they will be spent planning for the week to come. Best for me to take quality time and plan my week, then to run around accomplishing nothing.

Crunch time is knocking at my front door and with each day that passes, the stress level rise X 3. I am truly grateful, my heart is still cool under such pressure.

All eyes on me, I WILL NOT LOOSE any more battles! Just watch me;)

Solid As A Rock: Part 6

"... And this old road is rough and ruined
So many dangers along the way
So many burdens might fall upon me
So many troubles that I have to face

Oh, but I won't let my spirit fail me
Oh, I won't let my spirit go
Until I get to my destination
I'm gonna take it slowly cuz I'm making it mine

Step by step..."

-- Whitney Houston

Day # 9

Another step was placed forward, today. It's for days like this we all wish we were a pet fish to just eat and sleep at will. However, we managed to push forward with these tasks:
  1. Finalized the first test postcard for Louis Mercier Apparel's "Express Yourself" line in order to start promotion
  2. Sent all PDF files to the printer on time, Yahoo!
  3. More Gala Des PME preparation, with phone calls, planning, booking flights and mailing
  4. Feed Black eye, our pet fish, again;)
  5. Approved and printed every logo to be copyright
  6. Grocery shopping
  7. Cooked my specialty lemon chicken dish
  8. Sweet dreams! We can now wrap up a "A good day!"

Solid As A Rock: Part 5

"Well, there's a bridge and there's a river
That I still must cross, as I'm going on my journey
Oh, I might be lost

And there's a road I have to follow, a place I have to go
Well, no one told me just how to get there
But when I get there I'll know 'cause I'm taking it

Step by step, bit by bit
Stone by stone, brick by brick
Step by step, day by day
Mile by mile"

-- Whitney Houston

Good night world!

Day # 8 had me back on the cell phone, on the road, the internet and taking things day by day.

With joy, Louis Mercier Apparel (LMA) has been moving forward steadily, we have now reached our goal in starting a Market Research for our fall 2011 line "Express Yourself".

Solid As A Rock: Part 4

Good morning world! Already day # 7 of 17 and I am only now posting Part # 4

I guess you can say: "What a wild ride it has been for me in staying focus while battling my cold and its symptoms". Even though I am behind on blog updates with this journey, as I send you my deepest apology, I have kept a steady march forward in accomplishing priorities on my To Do List.

I have now:
  1. Renewed life in the company's paperwork and vision
  2. Confirmed a list of guests that will be attending the nomination for Soulion Entertainment at the Gala Award of PME in Ottawa on Friday, September 23 2011
  3. Erased my cold and headache with proper sleep and medication. Cold, who's your DADDY now;)
  4. Bought more shares on the stock market while my portfolio is still in the red. Call me Mr. Crazy Optimist or just Crazy;)
  5. Booked all accomodation for every guests in Ottawa

And the beat goes on, I am back at my desk on this lovely morning with a plan and the cell phone in hand.

Solid As A Rock: Part 3

Good morning world! And a special good morning to my reading fans in Montreal, Quebec!

Day # 2 has started on a good foot. My cold and headache was erased with the help of two Tylenol extra strength tablets taken last night before going to bed. I even managed to finish my book before falling sound asleep into la la land. I read an awful book titled How not to get rich (or why being bad off isn't so bad) by Robert Sullivan. The only two advices worth sharing from this book are:
  1.  Don't buy or read this stupid book, better off watching a good foreign film with a lover, watching clouds move in the sky with a sibling or calling a long lost friend.
  2. A quote from the book said: Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
To be honest with you, I don't know much about being wealthy or wise by sleeping early, but I am much healthier to tackle my second day.

Today, most of my tasks will be spent at home in countless paper work, on the phone and on the internet searching for suppliers for Louis Mercier Apparel. I even have my pet fish Black Eye to cheer me on and to watch over me as I limit my internet activity on the stock market.

Update day : #2

It has been said: "The best defense is a strong offense". Therefore, on day 2, I have pushed myself to stay on the offense while being focus and on track with my To Do List early before everything falls apart. In order to remain ahead (just like in College and University), tonight is an all night work mode for me while I am still healthy to pull one off.

2 down 15 more to go;)

Solid As A Rock: Part 2

Good morning world!

I am up, I am on my feet and ready to face the impossible 17 days. First thing first, we point to the sky and give praising to the BIG MAN for a peaceful night. Then, we start our day by making a To Do List in order to tackle our priorities first.
  1. Brush teeth, shower, exercise...
  2. Have breakfast : Eggs
  3. Feed and play with our pet fish: Black eye
  4. Read global internet newspaper to be informed on world news while I was asleep
  5. Be out the door by 9 AM
  6. ...
Update day : #1

What a day! Instead of concentrating in fighting stress on my first day at the helm of my impossible mission, I managed poorly to fight distraction from a cold and headache to accomplish these important tasks:
  1. Applied for a permanent position
  2. Printed different logo and names font to be trademarked
  3. Watched the stock market falling down like a deer caught in headlights.
  4. Planning for tomorrow day # 2
  5. Eat an orange
  6. Read a business book
  7. Go to bed by 11PM, good night world!

Solid As A Rock

Dear world,

Happy labor day! Happy back to school tomorrow day!

Happy reading another entry from my journey!

For the next 17 days before September 22 2011 comes knocking at my front door. I will be fighting sleep, fighting stress and doing my best with limited time on my hands.

Against all odds, I will be leading a company through an economic storm, printing and marketing T-shirts for Louis Mercier Apparel "Express Yourself" line, preparing for press release and interviews for the PME Gala awards night, and all the other fifty tasks that needed to be accomplished last month. Here we go again feet!

I guess this is just practice stress for when the real ones come around from being a husband, a father and CEO of a Fortune 500.

11:00 PM, going to sleep while I still can;)

Good night! Be safe! Brush your teeth and say your prayer! Stay tune!
